Before you draw, center your focus to maximize clarity.
Physical Stance:
Place both feet flat on the ground. If sitting, ensure your spine is straight and your hands are resting palms-down on the table beside the deck.
Breathing:
Take three slow, deep breaths. Inhale the energy of pure focus and exhale all external noise or distractions.

You must ensure you are not playing on “Tilt.” An ungrounded Trainer one who is overly excited, anxious, or distracted will inevitably misread the board state, projecting their own instability onto the cards and seeing what they fear rather than what is actually there. A grounded Trainer is stable, clear-headed, and connected to the reality of the match, making them an objective observer of the strategic data.
Think of this moment as creating a mental Save Point. Just as you save your game before a Gym Leader battle to ensure you don’t lose progress, you are locking in a state of calm before the event begins. This ensures you approach the draw with the dispassionate objectivity of a Champion, not the anxious fear of a novice.
