The ArcaneDex card is designed as a rapid-access strategic interface. Unlike traditional Tarot decks which rely solely on imagery, this system separates critical data into distinct, scannable fields. Below is the technical breakdown of the visual layout, using Major Arcana I (Alakazam) as the schematic example.
1. Header Data (Top Bar) #
- Rank (Top Left): Identifies the card’s hierarchy.
- Pokémon Identity (Top Center): The specific creature bound to this archetypeA recurrent symbol or motif in literature, art, or mythology More.
- Example: Alakazam.
- Elemental InsigniaThe circular icon (Top Right) that bridges TCG Type and Taro More (Top Right): The circular icon indicating the card’s TCG Type (Fire, Water, Psychic, etc.) and its corresponding Tarot SuitThe Energy Class. One of the four divisions of the Minor Arc More alignment.
2. The Archetypal Link (Center Bar) #
Located directly beneath the main illustration, this black and gold bar establishes the core connection.

- Soul of the Pairing: A concise “Flavor Text” or mission statement explaining why this Pokémon fits this card.

- Zone A: The Upright Path
- Function: Primary Keywords.
- Usage: Read these keywords when the card appears upright. They represent the energy flowing correctly.

- Zone B: The Reversed Path
- Function: Shadow Keywords.
- Usage: Read these keywords when the card appears upside down (Reversed). They represent blocked, excessive, or misaligned energy.
- Example: “Misdirected Energy, Illusion, Powerlessness.”
4. Field Observation (Inset Tab) #
- Location: Bottom Right, pill-shaped overlay.
- Function: Biological/Lore Data.
- Usage: This provides the “Scientific” context. It references specific Pokédex lore or biological traits that ground the spiritual meaning in physical reality.
- Example: “An estimated IQ of 5,000 and the ability to bend spoons with his mind.”
5. Index Number (Footer) #
Example: 2 / 78 (Note: The Fool is 1/78, Magician is 2/78).
Location: Bottom Right Corner.
Function: System ID.
